What is Aunt Reenie's?

Want a sitter who does more than just sit? Bring your child to Aunt Reenie’s Schoolhouse, where he or she will not only have a great time, but learn as well! Well-known in the area as a great teacher, tutor, substitute, and caregiver, Noreen will welcome your child into her home. Noreen is presently working for the UTS TigerCare before and aftercare program, and is working to prepare a playroom/preschool setting, which she hopes to open in Sept 2011. She will be available for babysitting between the hours of 9:00 and 3:00 this school year.

Noreen is available to babysit at her home centrally located to Union, Franklin and Hampton Township schools (across the street from Union Township Middle School). Well-equipped for children between the ages of 2-5, Aunt Reenie’s house features a large collection of children’s books, a playroom filled with puzzles, puppets, crafts and games, a frog tank, and a large backyard. She knows the importance of stimulating a young child’s natural curiousity, wonder and interest in the world around them.

Free to sit anytime between the hours of 9:00 and 3:00, Monday through Friday, and am willing to work flexibly. Willing to accept any number of hours between those designated times, so even if you need a sitter for a couple of hours, Noreen would be happy to accommodate you.

Hourly rate is $12 per child.

Union Township Aftercare –to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday- Thidwick, the Big Hearted Moose, and The Lorax

Dressed and portrayed “Babushka” as a guest story teller and demonstrated the art of “Pysanky,” or Ukranian Egg Dying and Painting

12 years as a Girl Scout Leader and Co-Leader

Hobbies include arts and crafts, crocheting, knitting, and planning interactive and fun learning games for children.

Veteran's Appreciation: OperationSandbox
This past November, Noreen arranged for some WWII veterans to come and speak with the After Care students. They wore their dress uniforms and related stories to the captivated audience.
Noreen had the children use their handprints to make a poster of the American flag for the event. “You are Our Heroes” was the caption.
One of the veterans introduced the idea of “Operation Sandbox” to the students.  Throughout the year, students worked with Noreen and created greeting cards to cheer our soldiers overseas. The poster and cards were sent to our men and women in Iraq.

To the Rescue!
Noreen worked as an aide for the UTS Handicapped Summer Preschool program. She constructed a firetruck for each one of the boys in the program. They “boarded” their trucks each morning and steered them down the hallways to the classroom. "Fireman Small", a children’s book, quickly became one of their favorites!

Stay tuned for more projects, games and activities Noreen has done with her students!
